The Commission d’autorisation d’exercice, which reports to the Director General of the Centre national de gestion, is made up of two sections, one responsible for examining applications to practise as a pharmacist and the other for examining applications to practise as a medical biologist.

II-The section responsible for examining applications for authorisation to practise in the field of pharmacy also includes the members mentioned in II of article D. 4221-2 as well as a member of the profession proposed by the national organisations of practitioners holding a diploma acquired outside…
The committee may invite candidates to attend a hearing.
Opinions are reasoned. The secretariat of the committee is provided by the national management centre.
The tests to verify the knowledge referred to in article L. 4221-12, which are written and anonymous, comprise, for pharmacy and, where appropriate, for medical biology : 1° A test of fundamental knowledge ; 2° A test of practical knowledge. An order of the Minister for Health sets the organisational procedures for the knowledge verification tests.
For each session, an order by the Minister for Health decides on the organisation of tests in pharmacy and medical biology and determines the number of places available and the list of host structures proposed for the skills consolidation courses provided for in the penultimate paragraph of article L. 4221-12. A national jury is responsible for drawing up the subjects and marking the tests for pharmacy and medical biology.
The jury is formed by drawing lots, in accordance with the procedures laid down by order of the ministers responsible for health and higher education.
