Selective financial aid is awarded for the distribution of cinematographic works that have not been released in cinemas in France and whose distribution presents particular difficulties.

Selective financial aid is awarded for the distribution of cinematographic works that have not been released in cinemas in France and whose distribution presents particular difficulties.
The following are eligible for aid for the distribution of previously unreleased works:1° Cinematographic works of French or foreign origin presenting particular artistic qualities;2° Cinematographic works benefiting from selective production aid before or after completion which are the first feature-length cinematographic works of their directors.
Aid for the distribution of previously unreleased works is awarded either for a specific work or for an annual distribution programme comprising at least four works.
Aid for the distribution of previously unreleased works awarded in respect of a specific work covered by 1° of article 223-2 is reserved for companies that: 1° Either have distributed at least three cinematographic works in the two years preceding the year of the application; 2° Or provide evidence of mandates or any contractual document attesting to the intention to conclude such mandates for the distribution of at least two…
Aid for the distribution of previously unreleased works allocated under an annual distribution programme is reserved for companies that:1° Have a regular distribution activity. Companies are deemed to have a regular distribution activity if they have distributed at least three cinematographic works during each of the two years preceding the year of application;2° Have submitted an application for aid for a given work for at least three cinematographic works during…
Aid for the distribution of previously unreleased works is awarded for the distribution of cinematographic works whose total distribution costs do not exceed €550,000. This amount is increased to €750,000 for a given work in the animation genre and for each work in the animation genre included in an annual distribution programme. The distribution expenses taken into account are those mentioned in 2° of article 222-9.
Aid for the distribution of previously unreleased works is awarded on the basis of :1° The artistic quality of the cinematographic works submitted, the distribution forecasts and conditions announced, the efforts planned in terms of showing the works in cinemas, the promotional work envisaged, as well as compliance with the commitments made in the aid agreement in respect of the granting of previous aid;2° The size of the company;3° The…
When aid is granted for an annual distribution programme:1° For each film in the programme, the distribution company must submit, within fifteen days of its release in cinemas, the supporting documents mentioned on the list annexed to this book;2° The amount of aid may be increased according to the arthouse classification, the geographical location and the number of cinemas in which the works are to be programmed.
