Article 223-13 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Aid for the distribution of repertory works is awarded on the basis of the artistic quality of the cinematographic works presented, their rarity and their interest in the history of cinema, the distribution forecasts and conditions announced, the efforts planned in terms of showing the works in cinemas, the promotional work envisaged, and compliance with the commitments made in the aid agreement in respect of the award of previous aid. The size of the company and its financial and legal situation may also be taken into account.
For grants awarded for an annual distribution programme, account is also taken of the diversity of the works presented, the quality and consistency of the company’s editorial line, and the distribution work carried out in the year preceding the year of application.

Les aides à la distribution d’œuvres de répertoire sont attribuées en considération de la qualité artistique des œuvres cinématographiques présentées, de leur rareté et de leur intérêt au regard de l’histoire du cinéma, des prévisions et conditions de distribution annoncées, des efforts prévus en termes d’exposition des œuvres en salles, du travail de promotion envisagé, ainsi que du respect des engagements souscrits dans la convention d’aide au titre de l’attribution d’aides précédentes. Il peut également être tenu compte de la taille de l’entreprise ainsi que de sa situation financière et juridique.
Pour les aides attribuées au titre d’un programme annuel de distribution, il est également tenu compte de la diversité des œuvres présentées, de la qualité et de la cohérence de la ligne éditoriale de l’entreprise, ainsi que du travail de distribution effectué l’année précédant l’année de la demande.
