Article 236 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The date of the opening of the sessions of the Assize Court shall be fixed whenever necessary, on the proposal of the Public Prosecutor, by the First President of the Court of Appeal or, in the case provided for in Article 235, by the judgment of the Court of Appeal.

La date de l’ouverture des sessions de la cour d’assises est fixée chaque fois qu’il est nécessaire, sur proposition du procureur général, par le premier président de la cour d’appel ou, dans le cas prévu à l’article 235, par l’arrêt de la cour d’appel.
