I. – The formality of registration is given on the minutes, patents or originals of the deeds that are subject to it. However, the formality may be given:
1° On a full copy of the notarial deeds to be registered;
2° On a copy of electronically signed private deeds to be registered, with the exception of unilateral promises of sale referred to in Article 1589-2 of the Civil Code.
No registration duty is payable for extracts, copies or expeditions of deeds that must be registered on minutes or originals with the exception of expeditions and copies referred to in 1° and 2° of this I.
II. – Decrees may institute special procedures for the performance of the registration formality for certain categories of deeds (1).
III. – Cash payment of registration duties may be substituted by decree for registration in debit.
