Article L240-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The provisions of Book V are applicable to foreign nationals whose situation is governed by this Book with the exception of the provisions of Article L. 521-1 relating to the determination of the State responsible for examining the asylum application, the provisions of articles L. 521-2, L. 521-5, L. 522-1 to L. 522-5 and 1° of article L. 531-27 as well as the provisions of Title VII. The provisions of Chapter II of Title VIII of Book V are also not applicable to foreign nationals of third countries mentioned in articles L. 200-3, L. 200-4 and L. 200-5.

Article L240-1

Les dispositions du livre V sont applicables aux étrangers dont la situation est régie par le présent livre à l’exclusion des dispositions de l’article L. 521-1 relatives à la détermination de l’Etat responsable de l’examen de la demande d’asile, des dispositions des articles L. 521-2, L. 521-5, L. 522-1 à L. 522-5 et du 1° de l’article L. 531-27 ainsi que des dispositions du titre VII.
Les dispositions des titres V et VIII du livre V ne sont pas non plus applicables aux citoyens de l’Union européenne.
Les dispositions du chapitre II du titre VIII du livre V ne sont pas non plus applicables aux étrangers ressortissants de pays tiers mentionnés aux articles L. 200-3, L. 200-4 et L. 200-5.
