The professional league is constituted for an unlimited period in the form of an association declared in accordance with the provisions of the law of 1st July 1901 relating to the contract of association.
The members of the professional league referred to in 1° of article R. 132-1 are the associations affiliated to the federation and the companies they have set up pursuant to article L. 122-1, which are entitled to take part in the competitions referred to in article R. 132-1.
The associations affiliated to the federation whose licence-holders are eligible to take part in the competitions referred to in article R. 132-1, and the companies they have set up in application of article L. 122-1, are members of the professional league referred to in 2° of article R. 132-1. In addition, associations which are members of the federation and which organise the sporting competitions referred to in article R. 132-1 may be members of the professional league.
For the application of the second and third paragraphs, where an association has set up a sports company, only that company is a member of the professional league.
When a professional league is set up, the representatives of these legal entities, meeting at a constituent assembly, adopt its articles of association. The articles of association specify the procedures for acquiring and losing membership.
