Section 1: Provisions relating to the statutes of professional leagues

Where its articles of association so provide, a delegated sports federation may set up a professional league with legal personality: 1° Either to organise the sporting competitions it defines; 2° Or to lay down the conditions for the organisation and participation of sportsmen and women in the sporting competitions it defines.

The governing body referred to in article R. 132-4 meets at least three times a year. The articles of association of the professional league shall specify the rules governing the convening and deliberation of the governing body and the conditions under which it shall appoint an executive committee. The articles of association of the professional league shall specify the procedure applicable to the election of the members of its general meeting and of the governing body referred to in article R. 132-4. In particular, they shall provide for the creation of an electoral commission responsible for monitoring the regularity of electoral operations and the conditions under which these operations may be contested.

Where the agreement referred to in article R. 132-9 provides for the professional league to exercise disciplinary powers at first instance by delegation from the federation, the operating rules of the league’s disciplinary body must comply with the provisions set out in Annexe I-6.

The articles of association of the professional league and any amendments made thereto shall come into force following their approval by the General Meeting of the Federation and the publication of the order of the Minister for Sport recording their compliance with the provisions of this Title.
