Article 1030 of the French Civil Code

The testator may empower the executor to take possession of all or part of the furniture of the estate and to sell it if it is necessary to discharge the particular legacies within the limit of the available portion.

Le testateur peut habiliter l’exécuteur testamentaire à prendre possession en tout ou partie du mobilier de la succession et à le vendre s’il est nécessaire pour acquitter les legs particuliers dans la limite de la quotité disponible.
