Article 1031 of the French Civil Code

The authorisations mentioned in articles 1030 and 1030-1 are given by the testator for a period which may not exceed two years from the opening of the will. An extension of up to one year may be granted by the judge.

Les habilitations mentionnées aux articles 1030 et 1030-1 sont données par le testateur pour une durée qui ne peut excéder deux années à compter de l’ouverture du testament. Une prorogation d’une année au plus peut être accordée par le juge.
