Article 114 of the French Civil Code

Without prejudice to the special jurisdiction attributed to other courts, for the same purposes, the judge shall determine, where appropriate, according to the size of the assets, the sums that should be allocated annually to the maintenance of the family or to the expenses of the marriage.

He shall determine how provision is to be made for the establishment of the children.

He shall also specify how the administrative expenses are to be settled, as well as any remuneration that may be allocated to the person responsible for representing the presumed absent person and administering his property.

Article 114

Sans préjudice de la compétence particulière attribuée à d’autres juridictions, aux mêmes fins, le juge fixe, le cas échéant, suivant l’importance des biens, les sommes qu’il convient d’affecter annuellement à l’entretien de la famille ou aux charges du mariage.

Il détermine comment il est pourvu à l’établissement des enfants.

Il spécifie aussi comment sont réglées les dépenses d’administration ainsi qu’éventuellement la rémunération qui peut être allouée à la personne chargée de la représentation du présumé absent et de l’administration de ses biens.
