Article 118 of the French Civil Code

If a person presumed absent reappears or gives news of himself, the measures taken for his representation and the administration of his property shall, at his request, be terminated by the judge; he shall then recover the property managed or acquired on his behalf during the period of absence.

Si un présumé absent reparaît ou donne de ses nouvelles, il est, sur sa demande, mis fin par le juge aux mesures prises pour sa représentation et l’administration de ses biens ; il recouvre alors les biens gérés ou acquis pour son compte durant la période de l’absence.
