Article 1180-13 of the French Code of civil procedure

The lawyer for the minor or the minor’s parents may obtain copies of all or part of the documents in the case file. He may not communicate the copies thus obtained or their reproduction to the minor or to a third party.

The judge may authorise, at their request and on justification of a legitimate interest, the issue of a copy of one or more documents in the case file to the parents and to the minor who has reached the age of sixteen. The judge’s decision is a measure of judicial administration.

L’avocat du mineur ou de ses parents peut se faire délivrer copie de tout ou partie des pièces du dossier. Il ne peut communiquer les copies ainsi obtenues ou leur reproduction au mineur ou à un tiers.


Le juge peut autoriser, sur leur demande et sur justification d’un intérêt légitime, la délivrance d’une copie d’une ou plusieurs pièces du dossier aux parents ainsi qu’au mineur âgé de seize ans révolus. La décision du juge est une mesure d’administration judiciaire.
