The detailed medical certificate provided for by article 431 of the Civil Code :
1° Describes in detail the impairment of the faculties of the adult of full age to be protected or protected;
2° Gives the judge any information on the foreseeable evolution of this impairment;
3° Specifies the consequences of this impairment on the need for assistance or representation of the adult of full age in the acts of civil life, both property and personal.
The certificate indicates whether the hearing of the person of full age is likely to be detrimental to their health or whether they are unable to express their wishes.
The certificate is given by the doctor to the applicant in a sealed envelope, for the exclusive attention of the public prosecutor or guardianship judge.
