Article 1374 of the French Code of civil procedure

All applications made pursuant to Article 1373 between the same parties, whether made by the plaintiff or the defendant, shall constitute a single proceeding. Any separate application is inadmissible unless the basis of the claims arose or was revealed only after the report was drawn up by the assigned judge.

Toutes les demandes faites en application de l’article 1373 entre les mêmes parties, qu’elles émanent du demandeur ou du défendeur, ne constituent qu’une seule instance. Toute demande distincte est irrecevable à moins que le fondement des prétentions ne soit né ou ne soit révélé que postérieurement à l’établissement du rapport par le juge commis.
