Article 1463 of the French Code of civil procedure

If the arbitration agreement does not set a time limit, the duration of the arbitral tribunal’s mission is limited to six months from its referral.

The statutory or contractual time limit may be extended by agreement of the parties or, failing that, by the supporting judge.

Si la convention d’arbitrage ne fixe pas de délai, la durée de la mission du tribunal arbitral est limitée à six mois à compter de sa saisine.

Le délai légal ou conventionnel peut être prorogé par accord des parties ou, à défaut, par le juge d’appui.
