Article 1467 of the French Civil Code

Once the community has been dissolved, each of the spouses takes back any property that had not entered the community, if it exists in kind, or property that has been subrogated to it.

The joint estate, both active and passive, is then liquidated.

La communauté dissoute, chacun des époux reprend ceux des biens qui n’étaient point entrés en communauté, s’ils existent en nature, ou les biens qui y ont été subrogés.

Il y a lieu ensuite à la liquidation de la masse commune, active et passive.
