Article 16-8 of the French Civil Code

No information enabling both the person who has donated an element or product of their body and the person who has received it to be identified may be disclosed. The donor may not know the identity of the recipient, nor may the recipient know the identity of the donor.

In the event of therapeutic necessity, only the doctors of the donor and of the recipient may have access to information enabling them to be identified.

Aucune information permettant d’identifier à la fois celui qui a fait don d’un élément ou d’un produit de son corps et celui qui l’a reçu ne peut être divulguée. Le donneur ne peut connaître l’identité du receveur ni le receveur celle du donneur.

En cas de nécessité thérapeutique, seuls les médecins du donneur et du receveur peuvent avoir accès aux informations permettant l’identification de ceux-ci.
