Article 178 of the French Civil Code

If there is an appeal, it will be decided within ten days and, if the judgment appealed from has dismissed the opposition, the court will have to decide even of its own motion.

S’il y a appel, il y sera statué dans les dix jours et, si le jugement dont est appel a donné mainlevée de l’opposition, la cour devra statuer même d’office.
