Article 1816 of the French General Tax Code

In the event of the conviction of a publican for rebellion or violence against officers, the court may, independently of any other penalties incurred, order the closure of the outlet for a period of up to six months.

In the event of an infringement of the regulations concerning capsules, imprints or vignettes representing indirect duties on alcohol, wine and cider, the court may order the establishment to be closed, either permanently or for a period of up to one year.

Article 1816

En cas de condamnation d’un débitant de boissons pour rébellion ou violences contre les agents, le tribunal peut, indépendamment des autres pénalités encourues, ordonner la fermeture du débit pour une durée de six mois au plus.

En cas d’infraction à la réglementation concernant les capsules, empreintes ou vignettes représentatives des droits indirects sur l’alcool, le vin et le cidre, le tribunal peut ordonner la fermeture, définitive ou pour une durée d’un an au plus, de l’établissement.
