Article 1911 of the French Civil Code

The annuity constituted in perpetuity is essentially redeemable.

The parties may only agree that redemption shall not be made before a period which may not exceed ten years, or without giving notice to the creditor at the term in advance which they shall have determined.

La rente constituée en perpétuel est essentiellement rachetable.

Les parties peuvent seulement convenir que le rachat ne sera pas fait avant un délai qui ne pourra excéder dix ans, ou sans avoir averti le créancier au terme d’avance qu’elles auront déterminé.
