Article 1937 of the French Civil Code

The depositary must return the thing deposited only to the person who entrusted it to him, or to the person in whose name the deposit was made, or to the person indicated to receive it.

Le dépositaire ne doit restituer la chose déposée qu’à celui qui la lui a confiée, ou à celui au nom duquel le dépôt a été fait, ou à celui qui a été indiqué pour le recevoir.
