Article 1940 of the French Civil Code

If the person who made the deposit has been divested of his powers of administration, the deposit may only be returned to the person who has the administration of the depositor’s property.

Si la personne qui a fait le dépôt a été dessaisie de ses pouvoirs d’administration, le dépôt ne peut être restitué qu’à celui qui a l’administration des biens du déposant.
