Article 2050 of the French Civil Code

If a person who had compromised on a right which he had in his own right subsequently acquires a similar right in the right of another person, he is not, as regards the newly acquired right, bound by the earlier transaction.

Si celui qui avait transigé sur un droit qu’il avait de son chef acquiert ensuite un droit semblable du chef d’une autre personne, il n’est point, quant au droit nouvellement acquis, lié par la transaction antérieure.
