Article 21-19 of the French Civil Code

May be naturalised without a probationary period condition:

1° (Paragraph repealed);

2° (Paragraph repealed);

3° (Paragraph repealed);

4°A foreigner who has actually performed military services in a unit of the French army or who, in wartime, has contracted a voluntary enlistment in the French or allied armies;

5° (Paragraph repealed);

6° Foreign nationals who have rendered exceptional services to France or whose naturalisation is of exceptional interest to France. In this case, the naturalisation decree may only be granted after an opinion from the Conseil d’Etat on a reasoned report from the competent minister;

7° A foreign national who has obtained refugee status pursuant to the loi n° 52-893 du 25 juillet 1952 portant création d’un Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides.

Article 21-19

Peut être naturalisé sans condition de stage :

1° (Alinéa abrogé) ;

2° (Alinéa abrogé) ;

3° (Alinéa abrogé) ;

4° L’étranger qui a effectivement accompli des services militaires dans une unité de l’armée française ou qui, en temps de guerre, a contracté un engagement volontaire dans les armées françaises ou alliées ;

5° (Alinéa abrogé) ;

6° L’étranger qui a rendu des services exceptionnels à la France ou celui dont la naturalisation présente pour la France un intérêt exceptionnel. Dans ce cas, le décret de naturalisation ne peut être accordé qu’après avis du Conseil d’Etat sur rapport motivé du ministre compétent ;

7° L’étranger qui a obtenu le statut de réfugié en application de la loi n° 52-893 du 25 juillet 1952 portant création d’un Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides.
