Article 211-16 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The condition set out in Article 211-15 does not apply where, in the context of an international co-production, the production company holds only a minority share of the property rights in the cinematographic work and there is an obligation in the country of the majority co-producer to legally deposit cinematographic works or an obligation in lieu thereof to which it is subject.

La condition prévue à l’article 211-15 ne s’applique pas lorsque, dans le cadre d’une coproduction internationale, l’entreprise de production ne détient qu’une part minoritaire des droits de propriété sur l’œuvre cinématographique et qu’il existe dans le pays du coproducteur majoritaire une obligation de dépôt légal des œuvres cinématographiques ou une obligation en tenant lieu à laquelle il est soumis.
