Article 211-48 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The production company has a period of two years from notification of the first investment approval decision for the cinematographic work to obtain a cinematographic exhibition licence.
In exceptional circumstances and at the reasoned request of the production company, the aforementioned period may be extended for a period not exceeding two years, by decision of the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

Article 211-48

L’entreprise de production dispose d’un délai de deux ans à compter de la notification de la première décision d’agrément des investissements pour que l’œuvre cinématographique obtienne le visa d’exploitation cinématographique.
A titre exceptionnel et sur demande motivée de l’entreprise de production, le délai précité peut être prolongé d’une durée qui ne peut excéder deux ans, par décision du président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.
