Article 212-28 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The aid is awarded in the form of a grant.
The aid is paid in two instalments. The first instalment, which may not exceed 50% of the total amount of the grant, is paid when the grant is awarded. The balance is paid after the commission has examined the developed synopsis, treatment or screenplay.
The author has two years from the date of the first payment to submit one of the aforementioned documents for examination by the commission. On reasoned request, this period may be extended.
