Article 229-4 of the French Civil Code

The lawyer shall send the spouse he or she is assisting, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, a draft agreement, which may not be signed, on pain of nullity, before the expiry of a period of reflection lasting fifteen days from receipt.

The agreement shall be enforceable on the day it acquires date certain.

L’avocat adresse à l’époux qu’il assiste, par lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception, un projet de convention, qui ne peut être signé, à peine de nullité, avant l’expiration d’un délai de réflexion d’une durée de quinze jours à compter de la réception.

La convention a force exécutoire au jour où elle acquiert date certaine.
