I. – The second group comprises the following three categories of cinemas:
1° Category C: cinemas located in urban units with a population of 100,000 or more;
2° Category D: cinemas located in urban units with a population of 20,000 or more but less than 100,000;
3° Category E: cinemas located in urban units with a population of less than 20,000 or in communes located in rural areas.
II. – A. – Establishments are eligible for classification and aid if the following conditions are met:
1° The basic proportion is equal to or greater than :
– category C: 20% of film screenings made up of art house films;
– categories D and E: 15% of film screenings made up of art house films;
2° The base index is equal to or higher than :
– category C: 0.4;
– category D: 0.3;
– category E: 0.2.
B. – The basic proportion is calculated as the ratio between the total number of film screenings of art house films organised in all the establishment’s cinemas and the total number of film screenings organised in the establishment over a reference period.
C. – The base index is calculated:
1° By calculating the ratio between the total number of screenings of art house films organised in all the cinemas in the establishment and the average number of screenings per cinema organised in the establishment over a reference period;
2° By weighting the ratio resulting from 1° by the following multiplying factors, depending on the number of cinemas in the establishments:
– 1 room: 1.25;
– 2 rooms: 1.05;
– 3 rooms: 0.85;
– 4 rooms: 0.75;
– 5 rooms: 0.70;
– 6 rooms: 0.60;
– 7 rooms: 0.55;
– 8 rooms: 0.51;
– 9 rooms: 0.48;
– 10 rooms: 0.45;
– 11 rooms: 0.43;
– 12 rooms: 0.41;
– 13 rooms: 0.39;
– 14 rooms: 0.37;
– 15 rooms and more: 0.35.
III. – The base index calculated is weighted by a weighting coefficient and a weighting coefficient, the values of which are between:
1° Weighting coefficient: 0 to 0.40 points;
2° Weighting coefficient: 0 to 0.65 points.
IV. – The weighted base index gives entitlement to art house classification and to aid if it is equal to or greater than:
1° Category C: 0.40;
2° Category D: 0.30;
3° Category E: 0.25.
V. – The net amount of the aid depends on the weighted base index, in accordance with the table appended to this book.
