Article 231-30 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

I.-In year n, the decision to award a classification, a label and a grant is taken after receiving the opinion of the art cinema commission meeting in a regional formation.
The Chairman of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée may, if he considers it useful, consult the national arthouse film commission for a further review.
II.In year n + 1:
1° The decision to renew is taken by the Chairman of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée on the basis of the application submitted for the award of classification, labels and aid in year n;
2° For the cases provided for in articles 231-27 and 231-28, the decision to award a classification, a label and a grant is taken after receiving the opinion of the national art cinema commission.
III.In year n + 2, when the second paragraph of article 231-26 :
1° The decision to renew is taken by the Chairman of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée in light of the application file submitted for the award of classification, labels and aid in year n or the application file submitted in year n + 1 in the cases provided for in articles 231-27 and 231-28;
2° For the cases provided for in article 231-29, the decision to award a classification, a label and a grant is taken after receiving the opinion of the national art cinema commission.
IV -At the initiative and on the basis of a reasoned request from the operator of the cinema, the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée may refer the matter to the national arthouse cinema commission for a new opinion.

Article 231-30

I.-En année n, la décision d’attribution du classement, d’un label et d’une aide est prise après avis de la commission du cinéma d’art et d’essai réunie en formation régionale.
Le président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée peut, s’il l’estime utile, consulter la commission du cinéma d’art et d’essai réunie en formation nationale pour un nouvel examen.
II.-En année n + 1 :
1° La décision de reconduction est prise par le président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée au vu du dossier de demande présenté au titre de l’attribution du classement, des labels et de l’aide en année n ;
2° Pour les cas prévus aux articles 231-27 et 231-28, la décision d’attribution du classement, d’un label et d’une aide est prise après avis de la commission du cinéma d’art et d’essai réunie en formation nationale.
III.-En année n + 2, lorsqu’il est fait application du deuxième alinéa de l’article 231-26 :
1° La décision de reconduction est prise par le président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée au vu du dossier de demande présenté au titre de l’attribution du classement, des labels et de l’aide en année n ou du dossier de demande présenté en année n + 1 dans les cas prévus aux articles 231-27 et 231-28 ;
2° Pour les cas prévus à l’article 231-29, la décision d’attribution du classement, d’un label et d’une aide est prise après avis de la commission du cinéma d’art et d’essai réunie en formation nationale.
IV.-A l’initiative et sur demande motivée de l’exploitant de l’établissement de spectacles cinématographiques, la commission du cinéma d’art et d’essai réunie en formation nationale peut être saisie par le président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée pour rendre un nouvel avis.
