Article 2332 of the French Civil Code

Other than those provided for by special laws, preferential claims on certain movables are:

1° All sums due in execution of a lease or the occupation of a building, on the furniture furnishing the premises and belonging to the debtor, including, where applicable, the operating furniture and the year’s harvest;

2° The cost of preserving a piece of furniture on it;

3° The sale price of a piece of furniture, on that piece of furniture;

4° Claims arising from the contract of employment of the salaried assistant of a homeworker meeting the definition of article L. 7412-1 of the Labour Code, on sums owed to this worker by the clients.

Article 2332

Outre celles prévues par des lois spéciales, les créances privilégiées sur certains meubles sont :

1° Toutes les sommes dues en exécution d’un bail ou de l’occupation d’un immeuble, sur le mobilier garnissant les lieux et appartenant au débiteur, y compris, le cas échéant, le mobilier d’exploitation et la récolte de l’année ;

2° Les frais de conservation d’un meuble, sur celui-ci ;

3° Le prix de vente d’un meuble, sur celui-ci ;

4° Les créances nées du contrat de travail de l’auxiliaire salarié d’un travailleur à domicile répondant à la définition de l’article L. 7412-1 du code du travail, sur les sommes dues à ce travailleur par les donneurs d’ouvrage.
