Article 311-79 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Selective financial aid is awarded to production companies that do not hold an automatic audiovisual production account for the production of audiovisual works that belong to one of the following genres:
1° Fiction;
2° Animation;
3° Creative documentary;
4° Audiovisual adaptation of a live performance.
However, this aid is not granted for the production of unitary audiovisual works lasting one hour or less, with the exception of works belonging to the animation genre financed by a cash contribution from one or more television service publishers or one or more publishers of superior on-demand audiovisual media services, meeting the conditions laid down in 1° or 2° of article 311-8, or equal to €3,000 per minute, of works belonging to the creative documentary genre that are not intended to be inserted within programming slots or editorial spaces dedicated to the broadcasting of short cinematographic and audiovisual works and works belonging to the genre of audiovisual adaptation of live performances.

Article 311-79

Des aides financières sélectives sont attribuées aux entreprises de production qui ne sont pas titulaires d’un compte automatique production audiovisuelle pour la production d’œuvres audiovisuelles qui appartiennent à l’un des genres suivants :
1° Fiction ;
2° Animation ;
3° Documentaire de création ;
4° Adaptation audiovisuelle de spectacle vivant.
Toutefois, ces aides ne sont pas attribuées pour la production d’œuvres audiovisuelles unitaires d’une durée inférieure ou égale à une heure, à l’exception des œuvres appartenant au genre animation financées par un apport en numéraire d’un ou plusieurs éditeurs de services de télévision ou d’un ou plusieurs éditeurs de services de médias audiovisuels à la demande supérieur, répondant aux conditions prévues au 1° ou au 2° de l’article 311-8, ou égal à 3 000 € par minute, des œuvres appartenant au genre documentaire de création qui ne sont pas destinées à être insérées au sein de cases de programmation ou d’espaces éditorialisés consacrés à la diffusion d’œuvres cinématographiques et audiovisuelles de courte durée et des œuvres appartenant au genre adaptation audiovisuelle de spectacle vivant.
