Article 311-81 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

For works belonging to the creative documentary genre, where the hourly cash contribution from the television service publisher(s) meeting the condition laid down in 1° of Article 311-8 is less than €12,000, the initial contribution provided for in this article and in article 311-9 is made, for at least 50% of its amount, in the form of a contract for the purchase of broadcasting rights or making them available to the public concluded before the end of filming, or for works composed entirely of pre-existing images, before the start of editing.

Article 311-81

Pour les œuvres appartenant au genre documentaire de création, lorsque l’apport horaire en numéraire du ou des éditeurs de services de télévision répondant à la condition prévue au 1° de l’article 311-8 est inférieur à 12 000 €, l’apport initial prévu à cet article et à l’article 311-9 est réalisé, pour au moins 50 % de son montant, sous forme d’un contrat d’achats de droits de diffusion ou de mise à disposition du public conclu avant la fin des prises de vues, ou pour les œuvres intégralement composées d’images préexistantes, avant le début du montage.
