The following are considered to be cooperative associations: groupings of owners, farmers and sharecroppers united in professional syndicates or cooperative distillation associations, which deposit their equipment and their spirits and carry out the distillation of wines, ciders, perries, lees, marcs, cherries, plums or sloes, coming exclusively from the harvest of their members in premises managed by the said syndicates or associations and approved by the administration.
The provisions of the laws and regulations on distilleries are applicable to the layout of the premises managed by the trade unions or cooperative associations and to the operations carried out there.
The members of each trade union or cooperative association are jointly and severally liable for all offences committed on the common premises. Professional syndicates or cooperative associations may, however, present for approval by the administration two of their members who shall be jointly and severally liable for offences committed in the common premises and for duties on shortages found, except for recourse against syndicate members or associates, as regulated by the articles of association.
