The criminal court is seised of offences within its jurisdiction either by the voluntary appearance of the parties, or by summons, or by summons by procès-verbal, or by immediate appearance, or finally by referral ordered by the investigating court.

Le tribunal correctionnel est saisi des infractions de sa compétence soit par la comparution volontaire des parties, soit par la citation, soit par la convocation par procès-verbal, soit par la comparution immédiate, soit enfin par le renvoi ordonné par la juridiction d’instruction.
