Any person who has lodged a complaint is notified by the public prosecutor of the date of the hearing.
When the victim does not understand the French language, he or she is entitled, at his or her request, to a translation of the notice of hearing. Exceptionally, an oral translation or an oral summary may be provided.
Where the notice of hearing has been sent to the victim but it is not established that it has been received by the victim, the court deciding the public action because it considers that the presence of the victim is not essential to the proceedings may postpone the judgment of the case on the civil action to a subsequent hearing, composed in accordance with the third paragraph of article 464; the court must then set the date of that hearing and the victim must be notified.
