A victim who wishes to bring a civil action may declare:
1° A personal address;
2° The address of a third party, subject to the third party’s express agreement. However, this agreement is not required when the person is a representative of the public authority or entrusted with a public service mission and the offence was committed because of his functions or mission, if the declared address is his professional address.
He is advised that he must notify the public prosecutor, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, of any change in the declared address. He/she is also advised that any notification made to the last declared address will be deemed to have been made to his/her person.
Failing by him/her to have declared a change of address, the civil party may not invoke the failure to notify the documents that should have been notified to him/her under the terms of the law.
