Article 432 of the French Code of civil procedure

The hearings shall take place on the day and, insofar as the conduct of the hearing permits, at the time previously fixed in accordance with the procedures specific to each court. They may be continued at a subsequent hearing.

In the event of a change in the composition of the court after the opening of the hearing, the hearing must be resumed.

Les débats ont lieu au jour et, dans la mesure où le déroulement de l’audience le permet, à l’heure préalablement fixés selon les modalités propres à chaque juridiction. Ils peuvent se poursuivre au cours d’une audience ultérieure.

En cas de changement survenu dans la composition de la juridiction après l’ouverture des débats, ceux-ci doivent être repris.
