Article 448 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The statements of:

1° Of the father, mother or any other ascendant of the accused or of one of the accused present and involved in the same case;

2° Of the son, daughter or any other descendant;

3° Of the brothers and sisters;

4° Of the allies to the same degrees;

5° Of the husband or wife; this prohibition subsists even after divorce.

Sont reçues dans les mêmes conditions les dépositions :

1° Du père, de la mère ou de tout autre ascendant du prévenu ou de l’un des prévenus présents et impliqués dans la même affaire ;

2° Du fils, de la fille ou de tout autre descendant ;

3° Des frères et soeurs ;

4° Des alliés aux mêmes degrés ;

5° Du mari ou de la femme ; cette prohibition subsiste même après le divorce.
