Article 479 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Any person other than the accused, the civil party or the person civilly liable who claims to have a right to objects placed in the hands of the law may also claim their return from the court hearing the prosecution.

Only the reports relating to the seizure of the objects may be communicated to it.

The court shall rule by separate judgment, the parties heard.

Toute personne autre que le prévenu, la partie civile ou la personne civilement responsable qui prétend avoir droit sur des objets placés sous la main de la justice, peut également en réclamer la restitution au tribunal saisi de la poursuite.

Seuls, les procès-verbaux relatifs à la saisie des objets peuvent lui être communiqués.

Le tribunal statue par jugement séparé, les parties entendues.
