Article 482 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

A judgment rejecting an application for restitution may be appealed against by the person who made the application.

A judgment granting restitution may be appealed against by the public prosecutor and by the defendant, the person civilly liable, or the civil party aggrieved by the decision.

The matter may only be referred to the court after the court has ruled on the merits.

Le jugement qui rejette une demande de restitution est susceptible d’appel de la part de la personne qui a formé cette demande.

Le jugement qui accorde la restitution est susceptible d’appel de la part du ministère public et de la part du prévenu, de la personne civilement responsable, ou de la partie civile à qui cette décision ferait grief.

La cour ne peut être saisie qu’après que le tribunal a statué au fond.
