Article 486 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The minutes of the judgment are dated and mention the names of the judges who handed down the judgment; the presence of the public prosecutor at the hearing must be noted on the minutes.

After being signed by the president and the court clerk, the minutes are filed at the court registry within three days at the latest of the delivery of the judgment. This filing shall be mentioned in the register specially kept at the registry for this purpose.

If the president is prevented from attending, mention of this shall be made on the minutes, which shall be signed by whichever of the judges reads out the judgment.

La minute du jugement est datée et mentionne les noms des magistrats qui l’ont rendu ; la présence du ministère public à l’audience doit y être constatée.

Après avoir été signée par le président et le greffier, la minute est déposée au greffe du tribunal dans les trois jours au plus tard du prononcé du jugement. Ce dépôt est mentionné sur le registre spécialement tenu au greffe à cet effet.

En cas d’empêchement du président, mention en est faite sur la minute qui est signée par celui des juges qui donne lecture du jugement.
