In the event of a sentencing judgment, the Public Prosecutor may also lodge his appeal within twenty days of the day on which the decision is handed down.
Without prejudice to the application of articles 498 to 500, the other parties then have a period of five days to lodge a cross-appeal. Even in the absence of a cross-appeal, the court of appeal may, in the event of an appeal brought by the public prosecutor alone pursuant to this article, impose a lesser sentence than that imposed by the criminal court.
