Article 512 of the French Code of civil procedure

The period of grace may not be granted to a debtor whose property is seized by other creditors or to a debtor who has, by his own act, diminished the guarantees which he had given by contract to his creditor.

In these same cases, the debtor loses the benefit of the period of grace which he would previously have obtained.

Le délai de grâce ne peut être accordé au débiteur dont les biens sont saisis par d’autres créanciers ni à celui qui a, par son fait, diminué les garanties qu’il avait données par contrat à son créancier.

Le débiteur perd, dans ces mêmes cas, le bénéfice du délai de grâce qu’il aurait préalablement obtenu.
