Manufacturers and merchants of wrought or unwrought gold, silver and platinum or alloys of these metals, and, in general, all persons who hold materials of this kind for the exercise of their profession, must keep a register of their purchases, sales, receipts and deliveries, the form and content of which are defined by order of the minister responsible for the budget. This register must be presented to the public authorities at any requisition.
However, for transactions of €15,000 or more that involve investment gold as defined in 2 of article 298 sexdecies A, the register referred to in the first paragraph must include the identity of the parties. The same applies when these transactions are carried out during public sales or when the customer so requests.
The obligation to keep the register referred to in this article may be waived by order of the minister responsible for the budget for certain categories of holders or objects held.
