Article 547 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

An appeal against police judgments shall be lodged with the Court of Appeal.

This appeal is lodged within the time limits set out in articles 498 to 500.

The appeal is heard and decided in the same way as appeals against criminal judgments. However, the court is composed solely of the president of the criminal appeals chamber, sitting as a single judge.

Articles 502 to 504, paragraphs 1 and 2, are applicable to appeals against police judgments.

L’appel des jugements de police est porté à la cour d’appel.

Cet appel est interjeté dans les délais prévus par les articles 498 à 500.

L’appel est suivi et jugé dans la même forme que les appels des jugements correctionnels. La cour est cependant composée du seul président de la chambre des appels correctionnels, siégeant à juge unique.

Les articles 502 à 504, alinéas 1er et 2, sont applicables à l’appel des jugements de police.
