Article 65 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

If, while in police custody, the person is heard in proceedings for another offence and there are reasonable grounds to suspect that he or she has committed or attempted to commit this offence, the information provided for in 1°, 3° and 4° of Article 61-1 and be informed that they have the right to be assisted by a lawyer in accordance with Articles 63-3-1 to 63-4-3.

Si, au cours de sa garde à vue, la personne est entendue dans le cadre d’une procédure suivie du chef d’une autre infraction et qu’il existe des raisons plausibles de soupçonner qu’elle a commis ou tenté de commettre cette infraction, elle doit faire l’objet des informations prévues aux 1°, 3° et 4° de l’article 61-1 et être avertie qu’elle a le droit d’être assistée par un avocat conformément aux articles 63-3-1 à 63-4-3.
