In urgent cases, requests for mutual assistance from foreign judicial authorities shall be forwarded, according to the distinctions provided for in Article 694-2, to the public prosecutor or investigating judge of the territorially competent judicial court. They may also be sent to these magistrates via the public prosecutor.
If the public prosecutor receives a request for mutual assistance directly from a foreign authority that can only be executed by the investigating judge, he shall forward it for execution to the latter or refer it to the public prosecutor in the case provided for in Article 694-4.
Before executing a request for mutual assistance of which he has been directly seized, the investigating judge shall immediately communicate it to the Public Prosecutor for his opinion.
