Article 694-12 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The execution on the territory of the Republic of seizures that are the subject of a request made by a foreign judicial authority, pursuant to an international agreement, shall be ordered, at the advanced expense of the Treasury and in accordance with the terms of this Code, by the investigating judge at the request of or following the opinion of the public prosecutor.

L’exécution sur le territoire de la République de saisies faisant l’objet d’une demande présentée par une autorité judiciaire étrangère, en application d’une convention internationale, est ordonnée, aux frais avancés du Trésor et selon les modalités du présent code, par le juge d’instruction sur requête ou après avis du procureur de la République.
